Covered strangle: own shares + sell OTM call + sell OTM put. Double premium vs covered call alone. Cash-secure the put. Best on stocks you want to accumulate.

ENTRY RULES

Must own 100+ shares of the stock | Sell OTM call at 0.25-0.30 delta | Sell OTM put at 0.20-0.25 delta | 30-45 DTE for both legs | Must have cash to buy 100 more shares if put assigned | Stock should have stable or bullish outlook

EXIT RULES

Close entire strangle at 50% profit | If stock drops to put strike, roll put down and out | If stock rises to call strike, let shares be called away or roll call up | Close at 21 DTE | Never hold short put through earnings if stock is volatile

Covered Strangle Strategy — Advanced Income on Holdings

If you own 100 shares and want more income than covered calls alone, sell a covered strangle: sell an OTM call AND an OTM put simultaneously. You get double the premium. The put is cash-secured by your willingness to buy more shares at a lower price. Works best on stocks you want to accumulate. Risk: you can get assigned on the put in a crash AND lose value on shares. Size conservatively.
